Though I am completely of Chinese heritage, I believe that the Chinese government is not good for the country. China is becoming highly developed economically and technologically, but having friendly relations is also necessary. Today, George Bush awarded the current Dalai Lama with the Congressional Gold Medal, which is one of the highest awards given out by America. However, the Chinese government was angry about this and took offense to it. I actually agree with George Bush here in that religious freedom is necessary for countries, like China. However, knowing the draconian past of the Chinese government, things will remain the same until younger, more liberal leaders step up and change things.
